－ What You Can Expect －

The JR All Shikoku Rail Pass is the ideal way to explore all four corners of one of Japan’s most beautiful, but least travelled to major islands. Shikoku is known for its mountain scenery, hot springs, ancient Buddhist temples, and 88-temple pilgrimage in honour of a 9th-century monk. A short distance from Tokyo and the Kansai region, Shikoku is a great option for those looking to explore a different side to Japan with hiking one of the region’s major attractions. Shikoku’s Mt. Ishizuchi at almost 2000 metres above sea level makes it the highest point in western Japan and a beautiful sight particularly in autumn when the surrounding scenery turns a stunning orange colour. The city of Matsuyama to the north of the island makes for a pleasant trip with its Meiji Era architecture and laid back atmosphere. When you’re there, make sure to try some of the local Sanuki Udon noodles, a local speciality. There are a number of smaller towns close to Matsuyama such as Ozo and Uwajima which can easily be explored in a day and all covered on the JR rail network. ?Eligibility: All JR passes are available exclusively for visitors from abroad who enter Japan under the entry status of ‘Temporary Visitor’. Both of the below two conditions must be met for purchase and use.

1. The pass user must have a passport issued by a country other than Japan.

2. The pass user must enter Japan as a temporary visitor and have ‘Temporary Visitor’ stamped in their passport.

- The status of temporary visitor is established in Japanese immigration law and permits stays in the country of up to 90 days for purposes such as sightseeing. Visitors desiring to enter Japan for sightseeing will receive a stamp saying, ‘Temporary Visitor’ in their passport by the immigration officer.

?Overnight trains usually cover two calendar days. Under such circumstance, the journey will only use one day of the pass. This pass is only available for ordinary seats. Any reservations for express seats will come at an extra cost.

?Redemption Period: It is accessible within three months of the date the order was issued.

?Validity Period: 2, 3, 4, or 5 successive days since the chosen start date.
